AquaBox: Precision Performance Tracking for Water Sports
We have developed a new waterproof inertial measurement unit (IMU) housed in a custom 3D-printed casing, designed to withstand aquatic environments. This innovation, known as AquaBox, opens new possibilities for measuring performance in water sports such as kitesurfing and swimming. IMU FAST: High-Speed Motion Capture for Precision Analysis
High-frequency data capture for enhanced performance tracking
Our Fast-Acc system now supports sampling rates of up to 1 kHz, enabling high-frequency data capture over short bursts of time. This advancement is particularly valuable for:
- Biathlon shooting monitoring, tracking rifle recoil and stability with high temporal resolution. The IMUfast system successfully measured rifle stability and recoil during biathlon shooting tests in Candanchú. However, analyzing the relationship between shooting stability and effort control was not possible due to unsuitable track conditions after heavy snowfall.

Our AI-powered motion analysis models have been further refined to accurately classify techniques across different sports. These advancements have been recognized in the scientific community, with results published in Sensors and an award received at the UCAMI conference in Belfast.
